First Ukrainian Incubator Set up in Singapore be the Economic Development Group
Ukraine’s Economic Development (ED) Group launched UkraineRus, its first Ukrainian
business incubator in Singapore during Global Entrepolis @ Singapore 2006. Bringing to
Singapore, health, gas, nanotechnology and defence enterprises, UkraineRus will also enable
Singapore-based companies to access to the Ukrainian market of 47 million population.
“We are ready to cooperate with Asian countries avoiding “mediators” from Europe”, said
ED Group President, Andrii Karpenko. He stressed that Ukraine welcomes Asians, who wish
to explore how to further develop and commercialise original Ukrainian technology.
As a leading private equity adviser, ED Group develops innovation projects in a number of
high-tech fields such as medicine, IT technologies, defence, and radio electronics. It also
provides consultations to Asian and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) companies
on entering and investing in Eastern Europe and Asia. Yesterdays’s launch of UkraineRus,
coincided with ED Group’s conference on Investing in Ukraine: Europe’s Emerging Tiger.
The conference surveyed Ukraine’s current investment, economic, and political climate.
