Information on the second session of Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine of the 5th convocation
The second session of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU) worked from September 2006 till January 2007.
During the 2nd session Parliament considered and made appropriate decisions on more than 550 issues.
Decisions were made on 437 legislations, 131 laws adopted, 39 laws approved in the first load, 21 laws adopted for Ukraine to enter the World Trade Organisation. 104 laws took effect from the total amount of adopted laws, including 24 laws on ratification on international agreements and contracts; 21 laws took effect in new or renewed wording.
VRU adopted 1 Law of Ukraine initiated by the MFA of Ukraine on “Ratification of European convention on citizenship”.
During the stated period MFA paid special attention to Organisation for democracy and economic development (GUAM) Charter ratification. The legislation was approved by the structural and other commitees of VRU.
During the second session the VRU Commetee of foreign affairs considered 44 legislations, the Commetee of European integration – 77.
