State Department on communications and informatization of Ukraine

State Department on communications and informatization of Ukraine is a state body subordinate and acting within the competence of Ministry of transportation and communications of Ukraine.

The following are the main tasks of the Ministry:

• participation in accomplishment of state policy in the sphere of telecommunications, informatization, utilization of Ukraine’s radio-frequency resource, and providing of mailing services;
• state management in the sphere of telecommunications, informatization, utilization of Ukraine’s radio-frequency resource, and providing of mailing services;
• summarizing of utilization practice and preparation of proposals as to improvement of legislation in the issues of its competence, development and organization of legislative acts fulfillment, and control over their accomplishment;
• elaboration and accomplishment of measures as to development and improvement of general telecommunications network and network of mail communications, increase in their quality, accessibility, and securing of regular functioning;
• participation in formation of the National Program of Informatization and securing of its accomplishment;
• promoting development of entrepreneurship on the basis of competition in the sphere of telecommunications, informatization, use of Ukraine’s radio-frequency resource, and providing of mailing services, as well as conducting of state investment and anti-monopoly policy in these spheres; and
• creation of conditions for integration of telecommunications, informatization, use of Ukraine’s radio-frequency resource, and providing of mailing services into European and world information space.
